Saturday 9th June 2012 there will be a ride of honour from Squires Cafe Newthorpe Leeds LS25LX to Catterick Garrison and back to Squires Cafe were you can camp for free until Sunday. BMF BACKS DRIVING TEST PETITION

The UK’s largest motorcycling organisation is backing a campaign to ensure bike-related questions are included in the driving test to help raise awareness of motorcyclists on the road.

An online petition calling on the department for transport “to ensure that biker related questions are compulsory in the driving theory test” has been created by Bennetts, one of the UK’s leading motorcycle insurers.

“Since inattentiveness by other road users causes the majority of motorcycle accidents, the BMF has consistently called for further initiatives to raise the awareness of all vulnerable road users” says the BMF’s Government Relations Executive Chris Hodder. He continues: “With over 1.3 million motorcycles on Britain’s roads it’s incredible that prospective drivers can currently pass the test without answering a single question relating to motorcyclists. We would encourage all our members to sign this petition”.

Hannah Squirrell, Director of Marketing at Bennetts adds; “The petition has been approved by the government and we need to get at least 100,000 signatures in order to have this raised in the House of Commons. Bikers are an important group of road users and it’s essential they are recognised within the driving test.”

52 Mile Motorbike run on the 28th April 2012. Starting at 2pm from Madeley High School, Newcastle Road, Madeley, Crewe, CW3 9JJ. £5.00 per person to participate in the run, or £7.00 to add a wristband or £22.00 to add a wristband and a t-shirt. The run follows good biking roads with a pub and petrol stop on route. Camping is also available but needs to be booked. Party on the Pitch from 1pm including various stalls, children’s rides and community displays for all the family. Refreshments and food available. Ride of Respect 2010

GoldWings North Midlands are hosting their annual ride of respect to Wooton Basset in aid of fallen Afgan heroes

on Saturday the 17th of March 2012,

We will leave for Swindon on Saturday afternoon, with an overnight stay
at the Campanile hotel . With this event being so large the hotel places go very quickly
we recommend that you arrange your hotel accommodation as early as possible
we will have a get together for a social evening on Saturday in the town.

Early rise on Sunday

For the ride to R.A.F Lynham to join the other 10,000 plus bikers.
Tony E our ride coordinator has already prepared a FULL day out run after the event,
taking in the Foxes bikers diner for door step bacon butties & some fantastic roads
through the Cotswolds.

Could you please ask any body who is interested in coming along to give there

Maroon GL1800 stolen: Few people have ever heard of a
GoldWing being stolen, but I’m sorry to report that
the Goldwngs North Wales Vice-Chairman’s very
recently acquired Maroon GL1800 –
shown in the attached photo – has disappeared
from its garage over the last couple of days.
The registration is FE07 OKX, so
would all Wingers please keep an eye out for it
being ridden or offered for sale. If you hear of a job lot
of spare parts coming available suddenly in your
area, please let us know and we will follow up on it.
